A. IMPACT is a class in which students will improve reading, math, and other core skills as well as work on strategies to help them in every class. A. It is offered to high school students during 3rd, 5th, and 6th hours and Jr. High students during 4th hour. Q. What is this new computerized reading and math program I've been hearing about? A. The new programs are Reading and Math Academy and are being used by a majority of the students in the IMPACT classes. The primary goal of these programs are to improve students' reading and math levels and boost comprehension of both subjects. It is our hope that improved reading levels will lead to greater success in all classes. Q. My child has been enrolled in IMPACT because of his state assessment scores from last year. How will this class help him? A. Extra skill reinforcement in both reading and math using the Reading and Math Academy programs could help as well as one-on-one homework and study skill time. Q. Can students work on their Reading and Math Academy programs at home? A. At this time, the programs are only available through the school's server which makes them inaccessible from a home computer. Q. How are students graded in IMPACT? A. Follow this link to view the IMPACT Rubric. Q. If I have any questions, who can I talk to? A.
