Grade
Scale:
Classwork
and exams are considered for total points. All grade percentages ending
in 0.5
are rounded up; percentages
ending in 0.49… are rounded down—NO EXCEPTIONS.
A
= 100 - 90
B
= 89 -
80
C
= 79 - 70
D
= 69-60
F
= 59 or below
Tests:
A test will be administered at the end of each chapter. If a
student is
absent (excused) the day a test is given, the student
will have one class
period to make-up the test.
The test needs to be made up on your own time (before school, after
school, or
during seminar).
Quizzes:
One to two quizzes will be administered per chapter. Most quizzes will
be
announced. There might be some unannounced
quizzes. Therefore, I recommend you
have your reading and classwork assignments completed on time.
Assignments:
Assignments will be given throughout the grading period. It is to the
student's
benefit to complete these assignments to
prepare for the quizzes and
tests. Students will be expected to keep all assignments in an organized
folder or binder for
each semester.
Late
work:
I accept late work for half credit only if it’s
received by the
next class period.
Bell
activity:
As you walk in to the classroom every day,
there will
be a question posted on the board. You will have 3-5 minutes to answer
the
question in your folder. Your folders will be collected on every test
date. If you happen to walk in late that day, you will
lose your points for that
particular day. Your lost points can be made up after or before
school on
your own time (the
question will only be available until the next class
period).
