Welcome to Parents, Providers and Community

Let me give you a little background about myself. I graduated from Emporia State University with both my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. I then returned to ESU for my masters degree with an emphasis in administration in early childhood.

I spent 10 years teaching in Garden City in their public school system in second grade and then moving to the Kinder Prep program. I enjoyed my time there and learned a great deal. After earning my master's degree I moved to Great Bend Kansas. I used my new degree to be the director of the child development center at Barton County Community College and then went on to own and operate my own child care center in the same town.

Due to life changes I moved my 3 children to Assaria Kansas where I currently work as the Early Education Consultant for Smart Start of Saline County/Central Kansas Mental Health Center. My job duties entail working with child care providers, child care centers and families whose children present challenging behaviors. In addition to my job I spend a great deal of time doing presentations in the area and around the state.

I look forward to helping you strengthen your parent and provider and community relations during this course.
