SLIM teaches adaptability

Information Professionals wear many hats. Welcome to my Capstone project. This website contains artifacts of my experience with SLIM that showcase the professional values taught through the program outcomes advocated by SLIM.

The SLIM program at Emporia State University has taught me to be adaptable. I have learned that to be an information professional, a librarian, one was must have a diverse skill set, as well as a core set of professional values. On any given day, I must be able to answer a reference question, teach a class, give a book talk, suggest a good book to read, create a quick website, put together a bibliography, facilitate a creative and educational program, or even design an information brokering business!

Librarianship is exciting and innovative. I am proud to join such a forward thinking and progressive profession. I am confident SLIM has prepared me for my career goals and I look forward to implementing what I have learned during my experience of earning an MLS.

Sincerely:

Jennifer Madrigal :)
