My View: What is an Organization and Why Study Organizational Theory? was created for LI805: Organization Theories for Administering Information Agencies. The paper was created to summarize my understanding of the function and importance of organizational theory. A number of the theories investigated in the course were ambiguous, so connecting the theories to real life applications was challenging. This project introduced me to the underlying principles and traits that drive organizations and contribute to their success or failure. The theories may be a helpful lens to use when assessing a library organization and the larger environment in which the library belongs. 805 My View: What is an Organization and Why Study Organizational Theory? |
