Welcome

My web portfolio displays a variety of projects created within the School of Library and Information Management (SLIM) at Emporia State University. Topics as diverse as: left vs. right brain function, autism, folksonomies, disabilities law, web 2.0 technology, and organization management have been part of my exploration of information science. The diverse pool of knowledge I have to draw from has prepared me to understand and serve a wide spectrum of library patrons. The values of the SLIM program, the Library Bill of Rights, and the Freedom to Read Statement have guided the formation of my professional ethics. This web portfolio gives me an opportunity to share some of the experiences, projects, and influences that have shaped me as an information professional.

Future

I would like to incorporate creativity into my library career. My background in art has influenced my time at SLIM and I hope to bring these two paths of study together. Art libraries, Special Collections, and archives interest me, but I also plan to explore additional avenues to find a position that suits my strengths.
