Per Pruett:  “Geoscientists need access to a wider range of subjects because the field applies other sciences to earth problems and because geology is increasingly used in social science application… Geoscientists also need access to older material…. Geoscientists need access to a wider range of formats and use the informal unpublished media more than other scientists” (1986, p. 145).

Keeping this information in mind, databases and various web resources have been identified to aid geology students and faculty.
