Sapphira was born on July 5th, 2001 in the small town of Waverly, KS. She was the runt of the litter and the only female, she had 3 brothers that loved to play with her. The first 5 months of her life were filled with fun and excitement as her brothers and her grew and developed. Romping in the fields near their owner's house. The dog breeder that raised the pups liked to frequent a local country bar a few miles up the road. One night in particular he was visiting the bar, when he asked a young lady to dance with him. Her name was Shelly and she was 21, she was there with a friend of hers, a local fourth grade school teacher. The dog breeder asked Shelly to dance and they danced a few dances. They sat back down and the dog breeder announced to Shelly, that he "Would like to give her a Dog!" Shelly was a little floored by this and asked what he meant. Knowing that if this was a smooth pick-up line, she was not taking the bait. He clarified by informing her that he raised Dalmatians and had a female that was about to come into heat, that he needed to give away, since she had brothers. And so the story goes on, with him showing up the following Saturday at Shelly's house with Sapphira, then named Princess, and 3 dozen farm fresh eggs.
